These 4 Instagram Accounts Could Help You (Re)Connect With Your Emotions
It’s been awhile since I’ve written publicly. Sometimes, after my job has had me glued to a computer screen for social media work it gets tough to reconnect with my emotions.
It gets tough to reconnect.
But, I found 4 Instagram accounts who can help:
@newhappyco
An account described as “The science-backed philosophy that leads to lasting happiness.” It features mostly bold colours on white backgrounds and is often designed with shapes and somewhat scientific designs. Don’t worry, the shapes are pretty but it is the words that really matter. (www.instagram.com/newhappyco)
@sistercody
An artist whose bio only says “Love yourself”. Sister Cody creates hand drawn and handwritten messages about…well, love. Loving others, loving yourself — after all you’ve been through, whatever it may be. (www.instagram.com/sistercody)
@peopleiveloved
Someone under the name of “Carissa Potter Carlson” and describes the account in these words, “Humans are so complicated. Art, objects, and other things to help you feel a little less alone.” Carissa creates drawings with annotations about daily thoughts or experiences we all may have, hold onto, but never express. @poolhousenewyork
Described as “words and art to help nourish the soul” and created by Andrew Anabi. Andrew creates mostly text-based art. Using bright colours and alternating tri-colour letters, it’s a great account for just focusing on words. (www.instagram.com/poolhousenewyork)
@toastedbyeli
This account is by Elijah Jambalaya a designer who makes “posters that help you feel better” and invites other to “come vibe”. His artistic style is almost magazine like, capturing big words and bold drawings to convey a very particular, short message. (www.instagram.com/toastedbyeli)
I hope these accounts give you some solace or act as a stepping stone to understanding and expressing how you feel, what you’re thinking, and maybe even who you are. (or are not)
